Accelerated BARSC-MD Program | Pre-Med, Research & STEM Mentor
Mira Bhutani is a high-achieving student enrolled in a highly competitive 7-Year Accelerated BARSC-MD Program, where she maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA. A graduate of Ponte Vedra High School, Mira has distinguished herself through advanced scientific research, leadership, service, and mentorship.
Mira has extensive experience in medical and scientific research, including participation in the prestigious Johns Hopkins SUPerKS Kidney Science Program and the Mayo Clinic SPARK research program. Her research has focused on areas including kidney pathology, women’s health, global child development, and public health, earning her competitive grants and academic recognition. She has also co-authored scientific research and presented her work at national-level symposiums.
In addition to research, Mira is deeply committed to leadership and mentorship. She serves in multiple health and service-focused leadership roles, including President of Exercise is Medicine, Co-Founder of Gamecock Red Cross, and Director of Communications for PhysiLink, where she creates educational programming and mentorship opportunities for students interested in medicine and STEM careers. She has also spent hundreds of hours mentoring refugee students and supporting educational access initiatives through organizations including JaxTHRIVE and Lutheran Services.
Mira is passionate about helping students build confidence, pursue ambitious academic goals, and discover opportunities in STEM, medicine, research, and leadership. Her mentoring style combines compassion, organization, and real-world experience, allowing her to connect with students from many different backgrounds and interests.
