Yale University | Biophysics, Biochemistry & Pre-Med Mentor

Kaleab Ayele is a student at Yale University pursuing a degree in Biophysics and Biochemistry while maintaining an exceptional 3.93 GPA. A graduate of Poolesville Magnet High School, Kaleab distinguished himself through academic excellence, national science competitions, and leadership in STEM and service initiatives. 

Kaleab has extensive experience in medical and scientific research, currently working with the Yale School of Medicine’s Clinical and Translational Research Accelerator to develop predictive models using electronic health record data. His previous research at Children’s National Hospital focused on neuroimaging and neurological disorders, while his clinical experiences include patient navigation, health education, and community health outreach. 

Beyond research, Kaleab is passionate about mentorship and service. As a former Mathnasium instructor, he mentored K–12 students in mathematics and problem-solving, and as co-founder of a nonprofit organization, he mobilized volunteers and resources to support underserved communities locally and internationally. He enjoys helping students explore STEM, medicine, research, leadership, and pathways toward meaningful service.
