University of Florida | Journalism, Media & Communications Mentor

Haley Black is a journalism student at the University of Florida specializing in Sports and Media with a minor in Public Relations and a certificate in Sport and Entertainment Law and Risk Management. She maintains an outstanding 3.95 GPA while combining academic excellence with leadership, communications, and media experience. 

Haley has built a strong foundation in journalism, communications, and leadership through roles in broadcast media, legal shadowing, nonprofit communications, and student leadership organizations. She has worked as a student journalist for WRUF and WUFT, producing multimedia stories, on-air reporting, and written content while developing professional writing and public speaking skills. She also serves in leadership roles focused on mentoring students and managing communications initiatives. 

As a mentor, Haley enjoys helping students build confidence in writing, communication, leadership, public speaking, and career exploration. She is passionate about supporting students interested in journalism, law, sports media, public relations, and developing the skills needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
